I had to return the can opener as the designed change made it impossible to install
under my cabinet. I was replacing my old Black & Decker spacemaker can opener that "died" after many years of use.I have the same cabinets but after struggling for over 2 hours we could not install it. The template in the directions was not accurate.I did notlike the change in design. I was really disappointed. Guess I will have to use a hand can opener.

I just got thru installing this unit under our cabinets and had to make an adapter bracket to make it work. If your cabinets have a face that extends beyond the bottom of the first shelf, this unit wont fit correctly. I made an adaptor plate and then mounted the unit to it and then attached it to the shelf. Wish I had just bought another Proctor silex unit like the one I took off. I bet the engineer who designed it has never installed one.Customer Review: B&D under the counter Can Opner

I had a B&D before I bought this replacement. It is very had to get the blade to puncture the can lid for the opener to work. Have to revert to the hand can opener once in a while. The old can opener had some what of the same problem.
The shipper was great, prompt on time, fast and well packed
